WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected. The five speed manual transaxle assembly is a three shaft, constant-mesh design transaxle in a single case. All forward gears are in constant mesh. First and second gears use double coned synchronizers and third, fourth, and fifth use single coned synchronizers. Reverse gear is also synchronized and includes a reverse inhibit feature. All fundamental components, including transaxle case, clutch housing, input shaft, counter shaft, output shaft, and differential assembly are supported by ball and roller bearings. No pre-load of the bearings is required. The transaxle uses Dexron(R) III automatic transaxle lubricant and requires no routine oil changes.
