1. While pinion is pulled out, check pinion gap, Fig. 19 . Fig. 19 Pinion Gap Inspection: 2. Pinion gap should be as specified under Starter Specifications . Adjust pinion gap by placing an adjustment washer between drive housing front cover and magnetic switch.
