TSB : Diagnostic Aids

Hybrid/Electric Powertrain

Details

When there is a coolant hose connected to the wrong port on the 3 way, 4 way or 6-way coolant control valve which causes incorrect coolant flow of the cooling system causing multiple symptoms. The DIC may display Service High Voltage System' and 'Reduce Acceleration' messages and setting coolant sensor DTC(s). Visually inspect the hose connections at the 3 way, 4way or 6-way coolant control valve ensuring the hoses are connected to correct ports. DTC P191D, P1921 and P293C Could falsely set in cold climates when the vehicle cold soaks and the propulsion is off for 1 to 3 days, and outside temperature is negative -35°C (-31°F) or lower. The cause is frozen coolant. Monitor scan tool parameters for ambient temperature, propulsion on time and Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Propulsion System Coolant Temperature Sensors. If the outside temperature is negative -35°C (-31°F) or lower the cooling system temperature will have to be brought up in temperature for the coolant to change from a frozen state to a liquid state. Clear the codes and recheck if the codes reset.
