Engine overheats
Symptoms
["Pull off the road and stop as soon as it is safe to do so.", "Shift the gear to P (Park) and set the parking brake.", "If the air conditioning is on, turn it off.", "If engine coolant is running out or steam is coming from the hood, stop the engine. Do not open the hood until coolant/steaming has stopped.", "If no visible coolant loss or steam, leave the engine running and check if the cooling fan is operating. If not, turn the engine off.", "Check if the water pump drive belt is missing or loose.", "If the drive belt is okay, check for coolant leaks from the radiator, hoses, or under the vehicle.", "If the cause is not found, wait for the engine to cool, then carefully add coolant to the reservoir up to the halfway mark.", "Proceed with caution. If overheating happens again, call an authorized Kia dealer."]
