TSB : DTC 35: Force Motor Solenoid Circuit, Short Circuit To B+ Or Ground (Early Production Passport & Rodeo): Description
Details
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected. Force motor solenoid is a variable position solenoid used to regulate line pressure. Force motor solenoid is located on adapter case valve body. The TCM uses Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) information and vehicle speed to determine appropriate line pressure for a given load. TCM regulates line pressure by applying a varying applied amperage of .1-1.1 amps to force motor solenoid. TCM then monitors return amperage on the return line. Line pressure may vary from less than 50 psi (3.5 kg/cm 2 ) to more than 200 psi (14.1 kg/cm 2 ). Line pressure is proportional to current applied on force motor solenoid. High current produces low line pressure and low current produces high line pressure.
